The Curator’s record

The ensemble cannot be reliably counted because individual Guardians may remain decorative and dormant for years. They are treated as active security, not passive sculpture.

Provenance

Mason Alden Thorne carved the first Guardian and bound duty into its form without defining an end to its service. By dawn he had become the second. A scholar, thief, and hostile guest later increased their number.

Observed activity

Green fire opens behind the eyes when the Caravan is threatened. Stone bodies move, metal wings unfold, and the threat disappears by dawn as a new statue joins the collection. Their positions may change without observation.
