The Curator’s record
Flowers surrounding the protected display require frequent replacement. The lid must remain closed.
Provenance
An old traveler gave the jar to painter Aiko Hanamura. She filled it with blossoms despite learning that each opening withered surrounding life. Her garden turned to ash, and her face appeared reflected within the glaze.
Observed activity
Flowers placed inside never fade. Opening the lid drains vitality from nearby plants. The vessel may carry Aiko's spirit as a tsukumogami or preserve her within the beauty she refused to release.
