The Curator’s record
The Caretaker counts the specimen during October. Records imply that this count is not always performed with sufficient frequency.
Provenance
Gareth Gygson took the pumpkin from an unattended stand marked TAKE ONE. It replicated its grin across his display, consumed Gareth, and won Best in Show before the trophy disappeared. The Curator later found it chewing on a scarecrow.
Observed activity
Praise widens its grin and brightens its eyes. Nearby pumpkins gradually assume the same face. Vines restrain prey while a toothed mouth consumes it. The creature is permitted limited movement during October.
