The Curator’s record
Placed at the edge of the collection, where its orientation is checked before anyone investigates disturbances beyond the lantern light.
Provenance
The Watcher was raised after a farmer harvested the final pumpkin traditionally left at the edge of the field. It stopped the movement beneath the patch and watched the routes of unseen things crossing between field and woods.
Observed activity
Its head or entire body turns toward the location of a threat. Furrows appear near its feet, leading either toward or away from the Caravan. If it faces the observer, withdrawal is advised.
